BULK MATERIALS HANDLING SHIPLOADER
Mobile Shiploaders offer flexible and environmentally friendly export solutions for all bulk materials
What is a ship loader?
A shiploader is a large machine located in ports and harbours for the continuous loading of bulk solid materials (such as iron ore, coal, fertiliser, grain and/or bagged materials) onto ships or barges to facilitate the export of bulk materials. We can design to meet all project requirements on a project-specific basis.
What are the factors to consider when selecting a shiploader?
Typically includes: harbour design, material characteristics, loading capacity, vessel type, local laws and budgetary constraints.
What are the components of a shiploader?
A shiploader consists essentially of a central column, an extendable arm or boom, a belt conveyor extending from the boom structure, a slewing mechanism, and a loading chute that delivers product from the conveyor or feeder. The boom can be moved backwards and forwards, up and down, by means of separate actuators, so that it can fill the entire hold and accommodate the increased draught of the vessel as it is loaded.
Classification of shiploaders?
There are two main types of boat loaders, stationary and mobile. The difference between the two is portability and immobility.
Stationary shiploaders
Features: 1. Relatively simple construction coupled with low initial acquisition and maintenance costs.
2. Low average loading rate and high operating costs.
Mobile shiploaders
Features: 1.Low operating costs.
2.Requires significant length of existing dock site or requires extension of dock length.
Mobile shiploaders are further divided into partially mobile shiploaders and fully mobile shiploaders.
1. Partially mobile rail-based shiploaders: move along a linear railway line installed along the length of the quay; additional costs for the purchase and installation of platform railings are required
2. Fully mobile tyre-type shiploader: allows free movement; option of self-propelled or towed by tractor trucks
This mobile ship loader is a machine on a single chassis with tire wheels and a loading belt conveyor supported by a lifting boom. It receives bulk material from tipping trucks or loading shovels by one or two feeders; for discharging a complete range of trimming and powered maneuvering systems is available.
The ship loader will be capable of loading ships at a design rate of 2,500 tons/hr. continuously,
A bulk density | 2.4 tons/m3 |
Conveyor Belt Width | 1,400mm |
Angle | 35° |
Belt speeds | variable to 3.2m/s. |
